The approval flow for research and service agreements is being streamlined. As of 23 February 2026, (medical) department heads can sign a number of agreements independently, making the process faster and more efficient. This applies to:
- Letters of intent
- Site suitability agreements
- Confidentiality agreements in the context of study protocols
- Consultancy, speaker, service, or grant agreements up to €10,000
Above €10,000, the delegated director remains exclusively authorised to sign.
Regardless of this delegation, the following steps continue to apply:
- Registration and review of the agreement with HIRUZ.
- Submission of the signed final contract to HIRUZ prior to the opening of WBS elements for invoicing.
Please allow a processing time of one week between the submission of the signed contract and the effective opening of the WBS elements.
