A closer examination of the call’s scope reveals a strong alignment with both BeCRA and the EUnetCCC. The European Commission is seeking proposals that will extensively pilot and scale up innovative diagnostic and treatment programmes for lung, colorectal, breast or prostate cancer across Comprehensive Cancer Infrastructures in at least four Member States. Importantly, the call explicitly encourages proposals to build on networks established under the European Beating Cancer Plan (EBCP) to facilitate cross-border clinical trials, with EUnetCCC specifically identified as a reference network in the footnotes. In this context, Sciensano is currently exploring the possibility of building a consortium to respond to this call.
