For promising scientists who (want to) conduct highly patient-centred cancer research and/or citizen-centred prevention research and do not receive support from the government and/or industry, Kom op tegen Kanker funds the Emmanuel van der Schueren personal fellowships.
Purpose
We support prevention, psychosocial, translational and clinical research that contributes to the prevention and/or early detection of cancer (prevention), to alleviating (the consequences of) cancer (psychosocial) or to improving the diagnosis or treatment of cancer in applied research (translational and clinical).
To be eligible for funding, the added value for the target group (patients, their environment and/or citizens) should always be central, and the intervention (developed within the project) should already be known.
Basic fundamental research is not eligible.
